IRIS is run by a team of in-house Ugandan experts, as well as call-up specialists in various business fields.  We are a specialized teams of trainers and business advisors who have accumulated experience spanning over 20 years, and have diverse skills across numerous industrial frontiers.

 

With this team, coupled with our toolbox of business training and analytics, we are able to customize each individual client’s assignment through benchmarking, diagnostic studies, desk and field research enriched by our local, national, regional and international experience.

IGA ZINUNULA SAMUEL - Managing Director

 

First trained as a Veterinary Assistant and later as Agriculture Officer, I have spent over 20 years directly in rural development work in all parts of Uganda, working in government and with non-government projects and undertaken consulting assignments in rural income generating activitiesin other parts of Africa, particularly developing producer organisations with focus on both food and income security

 

I am a strong believer that “people die during times of famine, not because they have no food but because they have no money”. Coordinating Uganda’s pilot Business Linkage Programme under Enterprise Uganda introduced me to “real business”. Managing IRIS Consulting and Training Ltd avails me the opportunity to apply key competencies in participatory training, enterprise analysis, agricultural value chain analysis/development, strategic planning and development of business plans to work with several entrepreneurs to birth and grow impact enterprises.

 

Working for several years now with BiD Network, I am passionate about innovative ways for actualising investment opportunities particularly in MSMEs.

NINSIIMA ALLAN - Project Officer & Business Analyst

 

My name is Allan Ninsiima, and I am an International Business Expert and Financial Analyst by training. I have notable experience in financial planning, business process analysis, performance assessments, market development, investment analysis, policy reviews and analysis and general business development.

 

Prior to joining IRIS, I worked on projects with Farmer-Business Associations, both in crop and animal farming, crop value chain studies, business coaching and mentoring, trade policy reviews and analysis in cross cutting issues including the East Africa Community (EAC) Customs Union and women in business.

 

During the last four years, I have developed strategic polices, training manuals, business plans, proposals, research tools, diagnostic studies and performance assessment tools for micro, small and medium sized enterprises, and participated in their success. I have executed research projects and conducted several enterprise analysis studies.

 

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from Makerere University, and I am currently studying for a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the same university.

 

My personal vision is “An economy where business ideas operate and the initiators make profits from their own intellect fairly and innovatively in a free market economy while satisfying community needs.”

CAROLINE SEKYEWA - Coordinator

 

I have a successful record in humanitarian and development program leadership, managing multi-disciplinary international development initiatives and developing new approaches for sustainable development spanning 10 years.I have excellent proposal development skills coupled with networking and fundraising expertise.

 

I am skilled in aligning organization’s activities with the government strategic frameworks to ensure program quality and added value.. I supervised multidisciplinary program staff and partners, and have technical expertise in program design, strategic planning, human resource development, grant acquisition and management, financial management, participatory monitoring and evaluation.

 

I have expertise in development cooperation including sustainable rural development, agribusiness / farming as a business, managing projects in water infrastructure development, sanitation and hygiene promotion, disaster risk reduction and livelihood support, education, health and nutrition, HIV/AIDS and sexual and reproductive health, good governance, child sponsorship and advocacy initiatives.

JOAN GALABUZI - Administrator & Financial Assistant

 

My name is Joan Galabuzi, and I am the Administrator at IRIS Consulting & Training. I am a graduate of Makerere University, and hold a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance Option. I am currently pursuing an MBA at Makerere University Business School.

 

I am good at customer care, I am punctual and a great team player.  I work well with others and also work well on my own. I am always ready and eager to learn, friendly, flexible, enjoy overcoming challenges and have a genuine interest in Business Management.

 

Prior to my joining IRIS, I worked as a Data Clerk Assistant at MTN Uganda under the SIM Registration Project between 2013 and 2014. In 2012, I worked with the Network Department as the Team Leader for record keeping MUST take over by American Tower Company, and in 2009 worked as the SIM Tool Kit Assistant with MTN Uganda. During my Senior Six (A'Levels) vacation in 2008, I worked as a temporary Data Entrant at City Bank in 2008, all of which experiences helped me to sharpen my skills in Administration and Management.
