KLAUS J. MUKUMBI

Legal Associate

Klaus J. Mukumbi is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and all courts surbodinate thereto. He currently serves on the board of JPWong Energies Solutions Limited as the Legal Advisor, Regulatory and Compliance Affairs.

Klaus has vast experience in corporate and commercial advisory, regulatory compliance, corporate restructures, insolvency proceedings, Technology Media and Communications Law, tax advisory and litigation as well as oil and gas practice.  

He has successfully negotiated and registered joint venture arrangements with numerous local and foreign oil and gas servicing firms.

Klaus is currently a member of the Uganda Law Society (ULS)  and the East African Law Society (EALS).

Tricia holds a Bachelor of Laws from Uganda Christian University (UCU) and a Diploma in Legal Practice (Dip. L.P) from the Law Development Centre (LDC).
 

Tricia works with A.L Advocates in the Litigation Department. She has excellent and exceptional skills in handling Land matters, commercial transactions and as well has experience and expertise in Intellectual Property.


She is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and all Courts subordinate thereto.

FRANCIS KARORO

Partner

Francis holds a Bachelor of Laws, Makerere University, a Diploma in Legal Practice (Dip. L.P) from the Law Development Centre and a Diploma in Tax and Revenue administration from the East African School of Tax and Revenue Administration. He previously worked as an Associate Advocate in Tropical Law Advocates.

 

Francis is a Partner in the firm and heads the Litigation Department and Entertainment and Sports Law Department.

 

Francis is a seasoned practitioner and warrior of the craft of litigation who has mastered all aspects of commercial and civil litigation and his area of expertise spans from litigation of criminal cases and commercial disputes.

 

Francis is known for representing a one Katongole Arajabu who had been convicted of murder and sentenced to 25 years imprisonment. The Court of Appeal later overturned the sentence and acquitted Arajabu after he had served 16 years in prison.


Francis is currently handling a land dispute of over 30 billion Uganda Shillings that has been in court for over 20 years.
Francis is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society. Francis is also a professional Basketball player with Falcons Basketball Club ltd. He also runs a Basketball Academy known as Sam and Roros Academy.

DIDAN BARISIGARA

Associate Partner

Didan is a trained Energy Oil and Gas lawyer having obtained an LLM in Petroleum Law and Policy from the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom where he excelled with a distinction. As a student he enrolled as a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) student chapter an organization that brings together professionals in the extractive industry. He is also a member of GOXI which is part of the World Bank Institutes’ Governance for Extractive Industries Program which brings together practitioners, scholars from government, private sector, with the aim of increasing and promoting good governance in the Energy Oil and Gas sectors.

He holds specialized knowledge in the extractive industry covering a number of areas ; Mineral and Petroleum Taxation; Environmental Law and Policy for Extractive Natural Resource Industry; International and Comparative Petroleum Law and Policy; Downstream Energy Law and Policy; Structuring Mining Agreements, International Project Finance and Petroleum Economics & Policy. He was recognized with Excellency in the area of International Project Finance an area which he intends to write his PHD thesis in the near future

Didan started off this career in the legal profession way back in 2011 when he first enrolled as an advocate of the High Court of Uganda. He has since worked both in private law firms and government where he has gained vast experience in a number of areas. In his private practice he worked in a team at Synergy advocates that advised on a power purchasing agreement for a power plant producing 5MW of electricity. He has also authored a number of researched academic papers in renewable energy, minerals, electricity generation to mention but a few. He also worked as a part time law lecturer at Uganda Christian University where he lectured 4th year students on the oil and gas law in Uganda. Didan is an Associate Partner heading the Energy, Infrastructure, oil and gas department in the law firm.

Jonathan is a Partner in the firm and heads the Corporate and Commercial Department. He has been involved in advising and structuring a property transaction of over 10 Million US Dollars.

 

 Jonathan has exceptional skills and has vast experience in handling commercial transactions, negotiations, tax, finance, banking, intellectual property related matters, restructuring of companies and on the structuring of commercial transactions. He has honed skills in energy, oil and gas regulatory matters.

 

Jonathan is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
