In the month of April 2021, Pan Foundation managed to conduct a SCHOOL BASED SEXUAL HEALTH campaign, here, 850 scholars in 6 different schools within Jinja were reached to. Most especially focusing on the girl - child. These included 5 secondary schools and 1 primary school, during these campaigns; material on Adolescent Sexual Health was distributed to the students and boxes of Sanitary pads given to the girls. This Campaign hoped to reach out to 25 schools as the primary target, however, we believe that with more resources availed, the campaign will move forward.
In some of schools where the campaign was conducted, a few cases of girls with shortage of Pads in their monthly cycle were found. This gives the Pan Pads project a validation for it's commencement. We believe that we shall continue to support the girl-child in every sphere as she continues to attain a better future and as we build a resilient, empowered generation.
